JEWELLERY CARE
Here are some easy care instructions to keep your jewellery in great condition:

– Clean gently with a soft cloth, either a treated polish cloth or warm water & sponge (dry thoroughly) .

– It is best not to sleep, shower or exercise whilst wearing your jewellery.

– If you would like us to clean or re-plate any jewellery piece for you, please contact us and we will be happy to arrange this.

How do I care for my brass jewellery?
– Sprays and creams including soap, perfume, moisturiser and suncream can cause dullness so it is best to remove your jewellery before using any of these products.

– Brass can simply be cleaned back to their original appearance by using a standard brass metal polish (Brasso is our favourite brand) The piece of platinum paper that came with your order can also be used to bring back their original shine.

– Oxidized silver. The black colour of oxidized sterling silver is a special surface treatment. With time and wear, the colour of the oxidized sterling silver may scratch and lighten—this is a natural and organic occurrence. Cloths and chemicals may strip off the oxidized finish, do not attempt to clean oxidized silver jewellery with anything other than cold running water and avoid rubbing.

– If you would like us to clean or re-plate any jewellery piece for you, please contact us and we will be happy to arrange this.

Damage to jewellery can happen due to normal wear and tear or if one is not careful with the jewellery item, remember jewellery is delicate. Within 3 months of purchase, we will repair the piece at no charge. After 3 months, there will be a repair fee charged to the customer. This amount will be determined after inspection of the product.

** All silver and brass Obtuse Jewellery rings will be charged an R80 resizing fee, for all other rings there will be a cost of R150.

*** Chains: If you would like an alternate necklace chain, please leave us a message at checkout. A fee of R50 will be charged for any length longer than specified.

Detailed Description of Good and / or Services
Obtuse Jewellery is a business in the fashion industry that markets jewellery and other bespoke design pieces.

1. ORDERS:
1.1 Purchase of products
When you order a Product from our website you are offering to buy it at the price stated, subject to these terms. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information were entered onto the system.
We reserve the right to refuse an order. Non-acceptance of an order may, for example, result from one of the following:
• The product ordered being unavailable from stock
• Our inability to obtain authorisation of payment
• The identification of an error within the product information, including price or promotion

1.2 Order acceptance and cancellation
Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept, decline, or limit your order for any reason, whether or not your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has been charged and your order is cancelled, you will receive a refund.
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled unless the shipment is unavoidably delayed. In this case, we will do our best to cancel the order if requested.

1.3 Back Ordered Items
When the item you purchased is currently out-of-stock, manufacturing time will need to be added to the waiting period. Manufacturing time is normally 4-7 weeks depending on the item. Please be aware that dates are approximate and are subject to change.
Please note: Your entire order will ship together as soon as all items are ready for shipping. However, if you have any inconvenience with this and prefer to have the available items shipped first please let us know. Please consider placing a separate order for your back-ordered items if you prefer not to wait on them for the rest of your items to ship. Payment for all items is collected when your order is placed.

2. PRICES:
Prices displayed on the Site are shown in Rand, including VAT. Prices are subject to change at any time.
Deliveries will be charged in addition to the price of the products. For very precious items, we may ask you to pay an extra fee, to cover the specific shipping cost.

Prices are subject to change due to the fluctuations in the precious metal and gemstone market.

3. CHANGES IN PRODUCTS AND PRICING
We are constantly updating and revising our offerings of products, and we may discontinue products at any time without notice. All pricing for our products is subject to change. For all of our prices and products, we reserve the right to make adjustments due to changing market conditions, currency fluctuations, product discontinuation, manufacturer price changes, errors in advertisements, and other extenuating circumstances.

4. DELIVERY:
An additional rate will be charged per parcel for courier depending on what the address is. If you live in a remote area increased costs may occur. Please note that we cannot deliver to a Postal Box and thus a physical address is necessary for shipping within South Africa. Please provide detailed and correct contact information, should a product be returned to us due to incorrect delivery information additional shipping costs will be incurred.
Purchases are only shipped once payment has been made in full. Once your purchase has been shipped you will be emailed a tracking number and your parcel should arrive at your address within 3-5 working days. Your shipment may include delays depending on your country’s customs policies. The buyer is responsible for any duties and/or customs fees that may be incurred by the country of destination.
Obtuse Jewellery Design only ships orders Monday to Friday, during office hours, and does not operate on public holidays.

5. PAYMENT: Could you please check this as you guys are kinda handling the payment side?
Payment may be made via Credit Card or by bank transfer into the Obtuse Jewellery bank account, the details of which will be provided on request. Note that you are not obliged to have a Paypal account to pay by credit card. Credit card payments will be carried out through PayFast.
Upon receiving your order we carry out a standard pre-authorisation check on your payment card to ensure there are sufficient funds to fulfil the transaction. Goods will not be dispatched until this pre-authorisation check has been completed. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to, or does not authorise payment for any reason, then you will be notified of this immediately prior to completing your purchase using the site at the check-out stage. Your card will be debited once the Order has been accepted.
5.1 Merchant Outlet Country and Transaction Currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction Currency is ZAR (South African Rand).
5.2 Custom duties
You may also be liable for any customs and import duty, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. Customs policies vary widely from state to state and country to country. Therefore we suggest that you check the requirements in your country before placing an order. We will not be liable for any custom or import duties.

6. ADVERTISING DISCLAIMER AND TRADEMARKS
We attempt to be as accurate as possible with product descriptions and prices. However, we do not warrant that product descriptions or prices are accurate. In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or product information received from our suppliers and brands, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products listed at the incorrect price. We shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, we shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in accordance with our Return Policy, as set forth below.

7. RETURN AND REFUNDS POLICY

We want all of our customers to be happy with purchases made at Obtuse Jewellery Design. However, if you receive any products that you are unhappy with, you may contact us within 2 weeks of receiving it and we will offer you a store credit of the item. The purchase price is the amount you paid for the product and does not include any delivery costs.
All products are returnable, excluding:
Special Order
Custom-Made Jewellery
Earrings (for hygiene reason) and
All Products bought on sale
Products returned must be unused, unworn, and undamaged. We shall have no obligation to accept any return that we receive after the expiration of the applicable return period (2 weeks after receipt of your parcel). Please ensure when returning the parcel that the products are properly protected.
7.2 Exchange policy
If you wish to exchange a product, you will be given a store credit that you will be able to use towards your next order. Please be aware that any purchases made with store credits are processed as a new order and standard postage/ courier costs and delivery times will apply.
You are responsible for postage costs of returning the item. We recommend using registered mail to return items, as we are not liable for any items lost in the post.
A 6 weeks period is granted for consumers to notify Obtuse Jewellery of any defects. Should this happen, we shall repair or replace the item upon costumer’s choice.

8. CANCELLATION FEE.
Unfortunately we do not permit refunds but exchanges or repairs can be discussed on a case-to-case basis with proof of purchase included. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any problems with your purchase.
Any repairs carried out outside the six month warranty period or not due to manufacturing defect will be charged for in full.
Please note: repairs or exchanges will only be carried out on any product properly returned by you in accordance with the terms of this return policy excluding the original delivery charges and excluding the costs of returning the product to us.
Should a product be returned in contravention of our return policy or returned without legal right to do so: we will not repair or exchange the product and we may retain the returned product until payment has been made to fully cover re-return shipping costs.
Variation
Obtuse Jewellery may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
